SCR Keyboard Emulator Quick Start

Quick Configure:

1.0 First select the comm port (or virtual comm port if using USB) you have your card reader connected to:

The currently selected Comm Port will be identified with a green tick, unavailble comm ports (those in use or not physically present) have a red cross, free ports are shown as a cable.

Refer to Locating the Neuron USB Serial Port for assistance in identifying a virtual Comm Port if you are using a USB version of the card reader.

1.1 Now select the model number of your reader, this can be found un the underside of your reader:

1.2 The last thing to do to configure the physical settings of your reader is select what tracks you want to read. Note that only the tracks that are available for your reader type will be available to select:

1.3 Before starting the Keyboard Emulator save your settings by clicking "Apply":

1.4 Now you are ready to start your card reader with SCR Keyboard Emulator, to start the emulator click "Launch Now", an icon will appear in the system tray and each time you swipe a card the contents of the magnetic strip will be sent to the top most window on your desktop as keystrokes.

1.5 You can now close the settings application by clicking "OK"
